Had this sent to me in a email and I figured I would post it and see if it is true or not. If it is what will NR and all the ones raising rough stock do with them? I have a good idea that could maybe make some money. Just turn the rough stock loose in the yards of the VHS members and see what they do.

Vancouver first city in Canada to ban rodeo
Humane Society says decision should send message to Surrey's Cloverdale
Rodeo

VANCOUVER, May 16 /CNW/ - Vancouver City Council's decision to ban rodeo
events in the city, the first of its kind in Canada, is a victory for the
humane treatment of animals, says the Vancouver Humane Society (VHS). The
council voted at its May 16 meeting to prohibit a number of inhumane rodeo
activities, which, in effect, will prevent rodeos from ever taking place in
Vancouver.
"This decision enhances Vancouver's reputation as a progressive city with
heart," said VHS spokesperson Peter Fricker. "It shows that Vancouver will no
longer tolerate the abuse of animals for entertainment."
VHS hopes the ban will send a message to other communities that rodeo is
no longer acceptable in modern society. "We hope Surrey City Council will
follow Vancouver's lead and phase out the Cloverdale Rodeo," said Fricker. VHS
has proposed to Surrey council that the rodeo be replaced with a country music
festival - a proposal backed by the BC SPCA.
Rodeo last took place in Vancouver in 1997, but VHS was concerned that
the rodeo industry might attempt to use the 2010 Winter Olympics as an
opportunity to showcase itself. Rodeo was featured in the 2002 Olympics in
Salt Lake City as one of the cultural events, despite protests from the public
and animal protection groups.
"Rodeo is based on animals' reactions to pain, fear and stress," said
Fricker. "It's animal abuse, plain and simple. We're glad it will never happen
in Vancouver again."

That just makes me want to throw up!

That reminds me of the time during the filming of the movie Dances With Wolves....I was about 10 and this lady was there as an Animal Activist making sure that no buffalo or anything was harmed in the making of the film...well I caught this lady myself beating her own dog behind her bus. I was 10 so I didn't know enough to make a deal of it and prolly best that way anyway, besides, maybe the dog deserved it, but I wonder how many of them damn people are like this lady! I remember at one point the dog was off the ground by her yanking on his coller.

These bunny huggers don't you just want to grab them and throw them in a pile of deer guts or something? I dunno...them and vegetarians make me ill.

Poor Canada...I hope the US is smarter than that!!!

Vancouver is also a "Mecca" for drug addicts, prostitutes and street gangs. It is also pretty much the "Gay" capital of Canada.

They do this from time to time in Illinois... Not that Illinois is a mecca of rodeo or anything but they have failed so far... They will keep trying...

What always got me is the coruption in Chicago is rampant, the school district is abysmall, crime is out of control and the projects, are well, the projects... Yet the city council passes a bill that makes the serving of frois grois (Goose liver patte) illegal. Oh my god, it affected like 7 restraunts but they spent lots of time debating and getthing this thing passed... I love my state... Really I do Rolling Eyes
