| I usta do cross stitch quite a bit when the kids were little. And crochet'd quite a bit then too, Only thing I crochet anymore is rugs.

| MTgirl did you use a rotary wheel to cut out the quilt pieces? Everything looks so strait and crisp and lined up exact. I learned about 10 years ago, that lil wheel is the only way to go when doin a quilt with strait edges or blocks. Oh and ironing between seams that helps too.

| My grandmother made me a quilt and everytime I get under it I think of her. My other grandmother made afgans (sp?). The are both priceless.

Yes, using a rotary cutter is the only way to go when quilting! Without it, the cutting would have taken 3-4 times longer than the actual sewing and aplique at the top of the quilt! I don't know how they did it in the "olden" days with cutting and sewing everything by hand! My goodness, we are lucky today!
