| Ty went to the CPCA meet in LLoyd last week and helped with three separate oputfits-cooling out horses, feeding, hooking up you know all the wagon racing stuff. Never outrode any races but got a wicked bite bridling a big 17+ hand thoroughbred-his exact quote-' He reached down and picked me up a tit-hurt like h... but was pretty funny.' He had a great time-they slept out with the horses-I can see weekends are going to be out for work on the homeplace lol.

I am glad Ty could laugh about it. Bet he had lots of fun.
Now you see what the horse did to end up with his head in the bed ......(Godfather)

| Ohh I don't think the horse was being mean -just playing-he bridled him a few more times after that-he's a bit more nimble than his Dad to just grab the horn and swing on lol.

Anyone that thinks horses LAY for them is way off base.
So you think a horse thinks about the next time he can 'get' you,
Judith? The knowledgeable horsepeople that I've been around teach you
that just isn't true. Not only that but, nothing could be further from the
truth.
The way you talk about the TB's sounds like you have a chip
on your shoulder.

| I don't know if they lay in wait but I do know some horses absolutely hate some people. A neighbor borrowed a draft mare to start some colts-after she came back she would get pretty antsy if he was around. OPbviously FH has never had a shetland pony either-our old Patches set lots of traps in his day lol.

| Nope no chip. I LOVE my horses! I just know that they are REALLY smart and yes I believe some horses do set traps. Never been one to listen to what other people say about training or how animals minds work. I have been training animals (dogs horses etc) for over twenty years. I simply work on body language and reaction from the critter in question. I do my own thing and it works for me. Not saying it would work for other people. The current anthrapomorphic (don't know how to spell it sorry...) trend frightens me to death! I also work with alot of Studs. Nice ones to down right rank. Yes they do stay awake planning their attacks. Nothing is spur of the moment with a horse. It has been coming for a long time. And like Northern says some horses just don't like some people. I have alot of horses sent to me to "fix" after a "natural horsemanship guru" has damaged it. Takes alot of work to get these guys reliable. I would rather work with a colt out of the field than on of the imprinted ones anyday!
