Its REAL easy to buy a started Border Collie
Expecially if you have lots of spare cash hanging around
Getting a great one is just a matter of making contacts then being in the right place at the right time.

I don't know Dale-- if you can't find him you can try
going to www.Kensmuir.com
and go to the forum
Theres lots of dogs listed there and you can post that you are looking for a dog.

Be REAL careful to get one from a solid working background- that includes the same kind of work you envision doing yourself.
Its a working based forum backed by trialing-- but thats no guarantee that someone else isn't making use of it Sad

Shame you weren't looking last month- Jeff Mundorf posted he was gonna sell a bitch-- it didn't move so he started it again and now is in love with it.
Would have been a great buy.

pS -- its an insult to refer to them as Borders on that forum -Being "creative" with breed names reaks of AKC mentality- something that isn't condusive to keeping the working breeds sound Smile

THX DJL,we've e-mailed him for some specifics. We have contacted him before but at the time had nothing available.

Its hard to get started borders in Canada because they fly across the border at huge prices, leaving us Canadians out in the cold.Lost our old guy a year and half ago and have been trying really hard to find a new started dog. We also really prefer a border collie with Scot blood. Our dog was shipped from Scotland and trained by Chris Cutter...unfortunatly Chris is out of the business.

Howdy, totally get what your saying, thats also another reason we haven't got a dog yet, just some trainers are not training the dog the way we want it trained. Thats a reason we like both Dale and Norm... they train and treat thier dogs the way we would. Gregs trained and sold dogs but takes too much work, time he really doesn't have anymore.

Hey Mrs. Greg you might have better luck phoning Norm, as I understand he is to be moving to Cranbrook for the winter. He could be in the midst of moving. I have to get ahold of him to take a couple of my pups for training. My male is a son of Norm's Joe.
