One of my biggest pet peeves is that horses from the racing industry are just dumped after their careers. When I looked for a stallion I wanted a horse that could produce babies that ran but once they had finished up they could move on to another sport. Mr. T is stamping the kids with his bone and also his brain. Very few people think he is TB, often mistaken for a warmblood. Very calm and together. If a mare is nasty I won't breed her. I am constantly pissing people off by refusing to service mares that are bad tempered but I also know that in the end of the day every fault is the stallions fault. I think we are starting to see the fruits of our labors. I couldnt be happier.
Katrina, I have no idea what a baby like Dutch would go for but I assume with his training they probably have a 10K tag on him. One of T's son's just went through the Ocala sale for 13K as an unraced baby. We will see him on the track in the spring.
One of the things I love about this stud is his soft eyes, he is such a kind ole boy. I know his eyes can't run but it tells you alot about his heart, it is very rare for a TB to race into there 10th year. He is truely one of a kind. ( if I sound like a love sick teeny I am!!!! I can admit it!

I ride both english and western. I'm not a petite wee thing by any stretch. Built like a tank! I am also not a "pretty" rider. I'm quiet in the seat but not invisible.
With that information, I find english saddles slip alot less than the western ones do. Most saddles can stay in place even without the little strappies. So no it would'nt be ugly all over the place you goof!
Also most of us have been thrown in a saddle without a girth to "improve balance" (Yikes crash) The saddles do most of the work for you they just don't move that much. I don't think I am brave enough to ride in a western rig without a cinch.......Hmmmm maybe something new to try. Judith contemplates going out to ride but cannot get coffee pot off head.....grrrr....
