So if it legal for medical use, does that mean somebody can legally grow it?? I also heard in the town of missoula, they voted to make some sort drug possesion a less serious offense. That town alone can out vote us in eastern montana. It is almost a different state on the other side of the mountains.

I think the law allows them to grow for their own use-- heard something on the radio the other day about it being interpretted as one plant- which they were saying wasn't enough....

Kind of funny the western part of the state can outvote us- but its the eastern part now with all the natural resource money- coal, gas, oil ....Now the whole state wants to share it- which the west didn't want to do when they had the gold, silver, copper, and lumber industries... Wink Rolling Eyes

Yep- most of the western part is turning into a California...Even Billings...When you look at all the redeye and early bird flights and fliers leaving Billings for Denver on Monday morning it seems like half of Denver lives around Billings and commutes between their Montana ranchettes and Denver jobs...

Something is really stirring with that coal/dieselfication plant BN is talking about in McCone County...Lot of survey work going on- and prices for business's/land are really jumping...I don't know if its just speculators or if inside info---I heard the Gateway Bar at Fort Peck "Best Dam Bar by a Dam Site" just sold for $1/2 a million- and the building is junk....BN already owns large areas of land out there and they are supposed to be sitting on one of the biggest coal reserves in the state....

Hadn't heard about McCone county coal project in awhile, thought they dropped it. Also heard williston has added direct flights to Denver.

Expansion for alot of farmers and ranchers will be slowing down, with all of this outside money buy up these places. We have several city people buy places near us. I can see problems arising with the lack of agriculture knowledge. I have heard of these problems close to urban areas but never thought I would have the problems.
By the way that had to be the Best Dam sale of a Dam bar by a Dam site.
Now off to the Dam Race Wink
By the way did they have the snowmobile races this year??

No races there this year- everything closed up this winter I think...I sure never heard of them....The new Hotel owner is a Wolf Point boy- he closed too, to remodel and is really hoping things keep going with BN and the coal...Could be another Boom to Bust situation- Valley County has lived its whole life that way- first homesteaders- that all went broke in the dirty 30's, and then the dam where all the homesteaders went to work, then the Air Base that closed- then the Training Center/Avco Military Production at the old Base which closed--- I guess we're about due for another Boom.......

Over near Helena things have gone the same way. Land that was going for 2k an acre a few years ago is now going for well over 10k. I'm fortunate to have some land, I feel sorry for folks who are just starting out. Helena will soon become the next Bozman/Misoula.

I don't mind the city slickers moving into the west, my only hope is that they don't try to turn it into the place they were from.

Go or stay east Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Nothing to see or do out here in the west Laughing Laughing

Roper , I think we are neighbours. I am so tired of the crazy wind lately. Our little weather centre said we almost got to 130 km/hr a few weeks ago. I know we are well known for our chinooks but it's been ridiculous this year.
