So how can a team send more than one kid per weight. Do these "extras" earn team points or what. I know it is nice to get as many kids to wrestle at state but how do you take more than varsity kids. When you have a bunch of kids like this they all feed off of each other. What an awesome feeling.
How many from Montana have made it as a 'four timer'?

No, Passing thru. Only one kid to one weight class on varsity..
All other kids have to then wrestle jv and you can double up on the weight class on jv... Only thing is if you have two jv at one weight class one kid as to wrestle as unassisted..... Meaning as not a part of the team. Pretty lonesome thing....... Our jv in Valentine go to tournaments and duals without the varsity and we wrestle as a team and we wrestle other varsity and other jv teams..... Last year we filled all weight classes and had I think 3 unassisted kids in the heavier weights. We were an awesome hungry bunch wanting to kick some varsity butts......
This year is differant as we only have 10 kids on jv and some didn't even make weight...
The wrestleing parants pack coolers full of food for the wrestlers. Bagels, creme cheese, sandwiches, peanut butter, candy, yogurt, and lots of water. Each kid knows what he needs to eat to pick his energy for that wrestleing meet. IF the meet is more than one day a wrestler is given a leway of two pounds....
All kids are certified at a certian weight and must be at that weight even if they wrestle up a weight class. You can not wrestle under your certified weight class..
Hope this answers your questions..... Oh yeah in nebraska you weigh in at the tournament and in south Dakota you weigh in at home........
Remember the immortal words: GO VALENTINE BADGERS!!!!!!!!!!

In Colorado they only let the varsity wrestle at the regional tournys, so that means at state you only have varsity. At regular tournys through the year everyone gets a shot to wrestle. There are good points that only the Varsity wrestle at the state tourny. The thing I like about everyone wrestling is that it gives everyone a shot at the big one, as sometimes as shown here in MT the two best in the state are from the same town.
The other thing is it was mentioned 15 weights. Is there a 180 like Texas has?
