WOW!!!!! Shocked Shocked

You have a post office that is 4 stories high!!!!

We're now up to 2 windows in ours and 3 extra parking spaces!!!! You are in a big town there OT.

Used to be a Federal Courthouse too- until the muckety muck high falooting federal Judges decided they didn't want to travel the circuit any more-- so instead decided just to use more taxpayer dollars to pay mileage and per diem to have 100's of potential jurors travel 100's of miles back and forth to the major towns (Billings, Great Falls)...

More Progress I guess Rolling Eyes Wink Laughing

Spent the week working with insurance companies Say what?

Started Monday afternoon when I called the claims Dept- and got a lady that could only speak broken English Mad But then got a little better....I have both my house and vehicles insured under Farmers Insurance Group...By Tuesday, they had a disaster team set up in town with motor homes, adjusters and claims agents, and inspection spots...

Yesterday afternoon (Wed.) an adjuster came out and inspected my house for damage-- easily agreed to replace the roof, gutters, vents, screens, and repaint the house and deck-- said he would cut me a check as soon as he gets the estimates (based on local costs and rates) together- no later than tommorrow....

Today I took the vehicles in and had them adjusted-- sweet young gal from Florida cut me checks on the spot to have them fixed--and even left the claim open in case the shop finds additional costs Smile
I have an appointment to get one windshield (the shattered one in my feed truck) replaced tomorrow AM....

Actually was pleasantly surprised by their speed and co-operation-- but on the other hand I've heard that some folks that have insurance thru a couple of the other major nationwide companies can't even get a claim filed yet......

That's good news, OT. Sure don't need to have the hassle of defending an insurance claim on top of everything else.

We have Farm Bureau Insurance, have had it forever, and they
too, are really good to deal with.

I was surprised- but that was one of the Companies I heard the most complaints on- them and State Farm...Probably just the local Agents-- but my partner had his house totally trashed-- inside and out-- can't even sleep in their bed because the glass was apparently driven into their mattress, has all his windows out (plastic now), carpets and furniture driven full of glass, all his siding and roofing gone-- and he has Farm Bureau and hasn't been able to get an adjuster out to look at it yet, so he can start cleaning up ( and he is a Farm Bureau state board member and representative Rolling Eyes )...

Haymaker looks like you should be selling lakefront property instead of haying Wink Wish I had some hay to bale-- swathed for two days, hitting the "good spots" left on about 300+ acres-- probably cut enough hay to maybe get 40 bales Rolling Eyes Sad Should have been 700-1000)...
Good news is the alfalfa that was hailed out is growing back, and with a little rain or irrigating might make a decent crop in 3 weeks or so...Bad news is that I don't have that much straight alfalfa fields-- and I'm not sure if the grass fields are going to produce much except fall/winter pasture this year....
I hope everything of Lil Sister's came thru OK- as that is over in her part of the country--altho I think she is still in Europe so may not have even got wet....

More than foot of rain floods Texas

By APRIL CASTRO
Associated Press Writer

MARBLE FALLS, Texas (AP) -- Lashing storms dumped up to 18 inches of rain on parts of central Texas, flooding several towns and stranding dozens of people on rooftops, cars and in trees Wednesday.

No fatalities were immediately reported in the latest in a series of storms blamed for at least 11 deaths in the past week and a half. The downpour and winds were so treacherous early Wednesday that helicopters were forced to abruptly halt efforts to rescue people from rooftops.

The rain was heaviest in the Marble Falls area, about 40 miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country, where Mayor Raymond Whitman said there were 32 high-water rescues.

Maybe it'll fizzle out before it gets here, and go on over durin the night. Night time temps haven't beena bein anywhere close to normal. They've been in the 70's instead of 80s. Sometimes it lets the thunderstorms quiet down and pass.
We could stand a few days/or weeks lol without rain. Today was the first day in I don't know how long that it hasn't rained. Boy was it swelterin.
