Your country looks good Soapweed. Glad you are having fun while getting things done. I bet Cal doesn't have as much fun as you seem to while working. Sorry Cal, couldn't resist. lol
I like your pasture picture the best. A lot of us would have rode right by and not found the beautiful picture you captured there. |
Tap, I think you have so much fun because you get to dress like a television star; http://www.kellie.de/fm/steve3.jpg

I just got back from visiting down at Cal's today, and I gotta tell you he is a great host! I went down there to straighten him out a bit and by the time I left for home I came back with a whole different perspective.
First, the directions he gave me made me wonder a bit if he really wanted me to find him, but he said to go right over the rocky knob, between two hills, so off I went. Thankfully I had my horse in the trailer, because I really don't know how he gets in and out of there with his 4 wheeler. I had no problem at all.
After we visited a bit, he told me that his wife had delegated him to some new living arrangements, so we went in and he made me a real nice lunch. Heck, there was even a place to tie my horse right there next to the table. That Cal is always thinking.
Then after a sandwich and some of what he calls his "non-cowboy coffee" (It kinda tasted like Tang though), he took me out to show me the new breed of cow he is developing.
I sure did enjoy the tour Cal. But for the rest of you that might be wondering what Cal looks like, I gotta say Cal is looking pretty good for the shape he's in.
Thanks again Cal. Come visit me sometime.

Uhhhh, yeah, Tap old buddy, nice to see you. But before you venture out again you ought to try to equalize your suspenders a little....it wasn't pretty.....and could you check your pockets for silverware? Never mind...keep it.

i do the same thing soapweed
here in this country when folks don't get along there are not any gates in the fences
so you can drive 1 or 2 head for a mole or 2 around or let the fence down and send a dog to bring the cattle across the fence and then put it back up
thats what i do
saves me alot of time
and i don't think the'll trow my dog in jail for trespassing
atleast i hope not
until later

I am glad to live in an area where ranchers feel very strongly about their property rights, yet I would WANT any neighbor of ours to help themselves to let the fence down and retrieve their cattle from our pasture. Or let it down to go across us. And they would all expect us to do the same. I would not care for them to cut it, unless they immediately fixed it. No harm done.
The point is that you can respect someones property rights, and still trust your neighbors.
