The horse herd

On the move

Another pose

A different view

Four more

What is this thing?

Two of the best horses on the place

Hope this contraption never replaces us

A mule guarding the horse herd

The pelicans look to be attacking

Anybody want to buy a horse

If we got rid of all the paints and mules, we would have just about the right number of horses

Just another soapweed at sundown

More ponies

A few at a time

I always thought it was impossible to have too many horses.. I seem to remember folks making up reasons to have just one more horse, you know a replacement, or what if folks come to visit and we need an extra one or two dozen, never know just how many will show, lol... My hired guy says he will be fine if we switch to equines but he wants a burro instead of a horse, goofy guy.

I was about ready to call it a day after baling hay. As I neared the house, the horses looked to be standing on a hilltop with a "mediumly" (if that is a word Sad Smile ) pretty sky in the background. The ATV seemed to be the easiest way to go take pictures. For one thing, it will get through some narrow corral gates where a pickup won't go. This saved me from going the long way around and coming in on the wrong side of the horses for photo purposes. Guess there is a time and a place for just about everything. Wink

Wanna buy a horse Soapweed? Smile

When I looked at the larger photo, I thought to myself that it could easily be a subject matter for a Tim Cox painting.
