I just told lazy ace I figured the fire departments would be out this weekend as hot and windy as it's suposed to be....

Not 10 minutes later, the first call of the season came across the scanner....for a fire at Green Grass, SD. Scary. I am guessing this one was caused by a two legged lightning strike...nonetheless, sad and scary.

I hope everyone is safe, and remember to carry a fire extinguisher.

Cheers---

TTB Wink

Yep-- I'm getting scared of even driving off the road...All this rain gave us lots of tall grass which is now getting dry...They had a swather started dryland hayfield fire on the 4th in the north part of the county...

Today is definitely drying things out-- 104 here now- temps showing 108-110 out in the Missouri Breaks---where the wife is Rolling Eyes She and couple of the kids, grandkids and in-laws headed for the lake-- I decided my air conditioned office with my (nice for naps) easy chair sounded much more appealing...

Raining , cloudy, and cool here. I got wet yesterday evening and ran the heater in the truck on the way to the house. Felt good too.

We have been real lucky this spring. We just keep getting some showers. Last week we had 2 different ones that totaled 1.1 inches and last night we had another 1/2 inch. These keep the fire warning down even though it was real hot last week. Grass is awesome amd still not to dry and rank. Pretty good for Mid July.
