We had quite a storm here last night. Crazy lightning, the kind that stays down for a long time, really bad winds, I am not sure how bad, but last weekend they said the winds were 116 km/hr and I think this was worse. Took out most of the hay that was laying down, knocked down some trees, and took the north wall out of an old open front barn we have. Pretty serious stuff. But, on a good note, no one got hurt, and if this keeps up we will have all of our winter firewood supply taken care of!! Here are some photos I took last night.

Started off with this dramatic sky,

Sky as it got later

Now the lightning

And, saving the best for last.......

Good pictures---This is already became a wicked lightning/storm year....

Radar shows we have another bunch of storms building tonite coming off the Mountains--but it probably will miss both of us, as its building further south-- and looks like it may stay south of the Missouri- move east......Might shake things up for Billings- Miles City- Dakotans...

You must have a very fast shutter speed on that camera.

Bet it would be fast enough to take a picture of my wife with her mouth closed.

This was the first really damaging storm here. I really enjoy watching them, but then there is always the results to contend with. Fires, wind damage, hail etc, and no one enjoys them.

With the humidity today I wouldn't be surprised to see more tonite.....

Well, that and the fact that a lot of the lightning strikes were really, really long. And, I got lucky with some of the shots.
