just got home from the big game! the Pike Valley Panther Jr High is now 3-0! we beat our arch rivals, the dreaded Rock Hills Grizzlies.
the past two years the Jr High has won ZERO games. hell the soap scrimmages ended in ties! so we are VERY proud of the boys.
my boy is a 7th grader, and smaller than most of the kids, he is on the kick off team and a back up at other positions. if the game is not a blow out, they play a 5th quarter here, so all the kids get some good playing time. My boy played QB. I was pumped! he had 3 real good runs, on of 8, one of 17, and one about 25 or so.....his passing game leaves something to be desired, but the coach told me next year he will be the starter!
yup, I am braggin, and I don't care how it makes me look, that's MY boy!

| So you play 5th quarter there too I think that's a real good idea. Sounds like you got an up and coming Husker there for sure.

Jiggsy, I can appreciate your son's achievements. My daughters are tearing up the volleyball courts, one as a freshman, and one as an eighth grader.
You are NOT doing your son any favors by rooting for a college football team with years of a losing tradition. You were BORN a Husker, but you are a Mildcat by CHOICE.
Do your son a favor. Ditch work today, drive on up to Lincoln, (it really ain't that far for you), drop a couple of grand for 2 tickets, and treat the young man to a REAL college football game! The sights, the sounds, the smells, and the electricity in the air! Give him the opportunity he will NEVER get in Manhattan: the chance to attend a big time ball game with top teams!
