It's wonderful, Oldtimer and Kolanuraven, that you are both "open-minded" enough to vote for both Republicans and Democrats, depending on the quality of the people running for office. You know, I could also do that if I ever figured there was a Democrat that would be better than the Republican running against him. Unfortunately, that situation hardly ever prevails.
In fact, back quite a few years ago, I did vote for a Democrat on the local level, because he was the best man for the job. Guess what, that man has now turned Republican, because he realized that basically Republicans stand for more of what he believes.
President Bush has plenty of short-comings (don't we all?). As bad as he is, I think either Gore or Kerry would have been worse. If it were all to happen over again, my vote would still be with Bush instead of either of the others. My only regret is that the Republicans didn't pick someone else instead of him to start with. Could I do a better job than Bush? Not a chance. For starters, I wouldn't take the job of President if it were laid in my lap. Do I think either you, Oldtimer, or you, Kolanuraven, would be a better President than Bush. Not a chance, once again.
Armchair quarterbacks are a dime a dozen, and they usually do not carry much clout.

No I'd say he did that so he could get elected by ALL the non-thinkers in Cherry Co.

I hope you are applying this rule to yourself as well because you just contradicted this in the above paragraph. |

Can someone please explain:
Why is it good for a liberal democrat to spend money like a drunken sailor,
but bad for Bush to spend money like a drunken sailor?
I say they are both despicable in their spending habits. Why did Bush think that if he acted like a liberal democrat then the liberal democrats would like him?

Bush is like Soapweed....he can't think either.
Remember the famous, " You're either with us or against us"....so it's whole hog with these folks.
If you're gonna bust a country and go broke...well the go all the way to the bottom as fast as you can!!!!
If you're gonna invade a country...why let little details like NOT a country who attacked us matter.....' he tried to kill my Daddy" is as good as reason as any!!!
