I really don't know the bones of computers. My Internet Explorer won't open for me,its where my email is. I can get in the backdoor with firefox...which greg downloaded, and I hate. Firefox is very slow, guess its not rigged for dial-up. I miss the Internet Explorer because its WAY faster opening pics here in ranchers. I've not been opening the pics because it literally takes me well over an hour to open pics....grrrr.

Any Ideas???I really miss the pictures!!!!

Yup I've done that, and it was our computer guy that told us to use firefox but I sure would like to delete it.My sis says that the firefox shouldn't be the prob. but I'm not buying that.

As for waiting on greg hand and foot,I'm thinking after 30 yrs its now my turn for that kind of treatment..... Wink

What version of Firefox are you running, Mrs.Greg? We're on a slow dialup and I've always had a lot better luck with Firefox than with Explorer.

That changed a few weeks ago when we let it 'upgrade' and downloaded the new Firefox - 3.0. It was SLOW. Apparently there were a lot of issues with it, because other people had problems with it, too.

We uninstalled it and reinstalled the 2.0.0.16 and everything went back to normal.

There is a newer version of Firefox now 3.0.3. I 'm on dialup and have been using FireFox since it first came out a couple years ago...much better/faster than IE. I dont think FireFox is the problem really.

FF won't be the issue.
if spyware/addware isn't the issue,I would look at the registry...
as you install/uninstall programs you leave fragments and broken links in your registry.Over time this will lead to a general slow down and loss of performance.Like walkin down a hallway full of toys and shoes ;) it takes longer than if the hallway is clear.
check out this free application:

I have a really good cleaner that the guy that looks after our computer downloaded and we use regularly.
Another couple things I was thinking...the computer is getting old, memorys prob getting pretty full. Also...is there a possibility that firefox and IE hate each other and were fighting... Say what?
Like I said I don't understand the bones of the computer.

I'm still going with Texans idea of the bad firefox...but have to wait until Hubby gets home from Illinois before I do anything...you know that hissy fit thing if I do something he hasn't agreed to.... Razz

yall might try to do a system clean-up........

go to "start", then into "all programs", then into "accessories", then into "system tools" & finally click on "Disc cleanup" & "Defra"

ALso, have you deleted your "temporary internet files" lately? That will slow a system down big time Smile

I think the cleaner deletes the temporary files but I'll check that out. I'll also try the Disc clean-up,that I don't think I've ever done....Thx Smile
