If I remember right you were the one screaming the loudest about our Governors brother being in the Capitol Building too much- and working with the Governor...And being involved in state business...

So then is this now condoned by you Say what? Wink

Ethics Probe Hits Hardest at Todd, Not Sarah Palin

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A month after she became governor, Sarah Palin's staff ushered Alaska's public safety commissioner into her private office.

But Palin wasn't there. Her husband, Todd, had called the meeting. He was frustrated that his former brother-in-law remained on the job as a state trooper, and he prevailed upon the commissioner to get rid of him.

"I thought that was odd and made me a little comfortable," said Walter Monegan, the commissioner, who later was fired by Gov. Palin. "We're having it in the governor's office, and he's not the governor. I think he was trying to use state trappings to handle a personal issue."

The January 2007 meeting was part of a long pattern of pressure that she and her husband applied on state officials to try to get the trooper fired, according to an Alaska legislative report released Friday. The report said those contacts amounted to an abuse of power and a violation of the state's ethics laws, which prohibit using public office for personal benefit.

But while the condemnation of now-vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was the conclusion, the nearly 300-page report by investigator Stephen Branchflower was more about her husband. Todd Palin, the self-described "first dude" of Alaska, had extraordinary access to his wife's office, her staff and her power.

Todd Palin spent about 50 percent of his time in the governor's office, making phone calls, participating in meetings or just hanging out, said Gary Wheeler, a member of Gov. Palin's security detail.

"He had a significant influence, in that he was always interacting with the, the employees there,"
Wheeler told state investigators. "Any time I needed to get information to the governor, I would always go through Todd."

The governor and her staff kept Todd Palin in the loop on a wide range of issues, copying him on e-mails about union matters, public relations and a bill requiring parental consent for abortions.

Double standard.

Monegan told Sarah himself that he would rather discuss the firing of Wooten with Todd.......not her......so that their would be no show of improprieties in the matter by her.

Which words do you libs not understand?????????????????????

Is it "Proper" or "Lawful"??????? Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Well we know what she wasn't doing with Bill- the reason he turned to Monica, and Gennifer, and the nose job gal and ?????-- but I'd gladly pay for all the cigars Bill needed, if we again had his National Debt and his economy in comparison to what we have today after 8 years of Bushenomics....

I'd kind of like to have Freddie and Fannie operating under the rules that McCain and other Republicans asked for a few years ago. Looks like they preticted what would happen pretty accurately, doesn't it? What was Obama's stand then?

The thing is- they are operating under those rules...The legislation was withdrawn when Fannie and Freddie consensually agreed to change from Title 33 reporting to Title 34 which is the same rules banks follow...
But you still have to have somebody looking at those reports- or all the reporting rules in the country are worthless...

What do we pay SEC regulators for? Why do we pay Banking regulators? They're supposed to do the oversight and report if their are problems....
Up to a little over a month ago I heard Cox, Paulson, Bush, and McSame all echoing to Congress and the public "The fundamentals of the economy are strong".....

You expect Congressmen to sit down and go over ever note that goes into Fannie or Freddie-- or thru Sandhusker Bank ? Say what? Rolling Eyes

Naughty, naughty, naughty OT. Looks like I have to follow you around to keep you honest Wink

I went there and read it. You needed to post the whole story, not just the first part. I was going to until I read the very bottom, of which I just posted.

First, Sarah is running for VP, not president. Why are you giving her so much power? Second, it looks like this is the only dirt they can dig up on Palin?

I was just finding more things to convince everyone that Schweitzer is evil. He has soooooo many secrets and he keeps his henchmen in line by bullying. The Billings Gazoo would never print anything about Schweitzer that wouldn't help him. So, someone has to be the carrier of the truth.

I don't condone relatives doing the job I should be doing - especially if taxpayers pay my wage. There, you happy OT?

I expect that kind of comment from you.
