Great statement...Reagan knew the mainstream media had been anti-Republican since Nixon(and before, but I didn't pay much attention before then), so he went directly to the people. If Republicans let the drive-by media define them, they are doomed. This has been Bush's problem...not talking directly to the people and letting the media define what he does. Eight years of anti-Bush coverage has fueled the "Hate Bush" cult!!! In this respect, Republicans are stupid!!!! Mad

Indeed, the greatest leaders understand that true power comes from below. That has been Bush's greatest failing as a leader in his presidency.
