They just rolled a semi of horses on the DeerFoot Trail in Calgary. The ones out of the trailer are grazing on the median with a bunch of firefighters around them. Hopefully he wasn't loaded too full. So far the reporter onsite has only said he saw harnesses (halters) and a bucket of oats.

Roll overs of livestock is always such a sad scene. Hope all is well for human and equines alike.

40 "young" horses on board. 12 dead or euthanized. The rest hauled a short distance to a pasture to recover. Deerfoot shut down all morning, not that it would be any different than if it was open. I have heard a couple of different reports on the numbers, each reporter counts a little differently. Crying or Very sad

Ewwww,not good...we had to fix a flat tire on Deerfoot once with a loaded horse-stock trailer,had to pull the horses out on to Deerfoot....Them Calgarians can get cranky if one holds up their traffic Shocked Wink


Sad though,wonder who the horses belonged too??

I'll check out Global..thx

Twelve sure isn't good but it could of been worse-I wonder how it happened-it looks fairly flat there.

Not sure what happened, but that driver is in a lot of trouble!!!.
No insurance, no class 1 license ect.. I can't remember all the charges against him Rolling Eyes Confused
