Has anyone ever noticed a spur growing out of a horses hock?Got a mare with two on the front and one on the hind end

I think those are just big 'chestnuts.' They'll eventually fall off, or you can take them off.

Horses use those "spurs" for fighting, just like chickens do. In Mexico they sharpen them to give the horses an advantage. Very Happy
