i saw a new correntie saddle today
and the young man riding was so proud of it i didn't have the heart to tell him that it was junk
when he wasn't looking i went and looked at the rigging and the way it was put togather and i think when he has roped a few big cattle out of it if the rigging dosn't come out it will streach and start to sore horses backs
but i geuss we'll see

My son bought a corriente saddle with an assoc. tree in it abt a yr ago. He has done alot of riding in it and loves it. Abt a month ago he pulled an 800 lb hiefer into a trailer out of it with no wear and tear on the saddle or the horses back. Guess it just depends on which one you get.

I have a Corriente team roper, it had worked well for the last 5 years, very comfortable and no problems. As with Billy Cook I live in Greenville TX, there are 2 Billy Cook saddles, one with a Greenville TX maker and another with Sulphur Okla maker tag . The Billk Cook Sulphur OK ropers , wade, cutters are made in Greenville TX even though they say Sulphur OK on the tag. Gary Castillo of Legendary Saddles makes them for Billy Cook, they ship about 25-30 weekly. I have been riding my Billy Cook roper for almost 10 years and I never had any problems with it.
I would buy another one if I needed it if I could find one just like it. The Billy Cook Greenville tagged saddles are or were made by Longhorn here in Greenville also.

Hi, My daughter has been riding a Corriente saddle for the last 5 years. Still rock solid. She runs barrels in it as well as riding out. No heavy duty roping or anything, but we are very pleased with it.

hmmm i know sulhpher oklahoma is down south but last time i checked its still the usa and thats where billy cook saddles are made at least yesterday when i was there

I don't know maybe we are talking about a different Corriente but when I talked to Wayne Baize who owns the place he told me he makes them in the USA not a manufacturing company. I bought a Reiner from him, really nice saddle and rides super nice. I know I don't rope in it but have other friends who do competition and day work in his ropers and like them really well.

I ride in a Fallis now as a main saddle but had to sell several other saddles to afford it 3400.00 but I doubt I will ride in anything else here on out.

For someone who doesn't have the money for a custom saddle the Corrientes are nice enough saddles

You cant beat the Association Saddle I used mine as hard as you can Never a problem. And Wayne he talks to like he Knows ya Good folks and a great saddle

We have purchased three Corriente saddles. They are all very solid saddles. We have one of the kids saddles, a barrel saddle and a roper. You cannnot beat the quality or the price. I have never received better customer service than I did with Corriente.

I have had two saddle makers look at the saddles and they said that they are some of the best they have ever seen. All of their trees are wooden rawhide covered, they don't use any flex trees or fiberglass.

I talked to the owner he has been making saddles and selling them for over 15 years and he stands behind his product. It is a family run business not a big corporation, which I love.

Everybody seems to think they are pretty and hand made..I have not read anything about how they actually fit a horse. To me thats the most important thing. I am considering one but not till I know if they sore up a horse or leave dry spots and all the other....anyone know?
