That's a cool story. I sat and visited with JF but had not read his documentary of the hunt, now I have to see the video. It's funny how people meet. JF has known my dad for years, but I am not sure that we had ever truly met until I posted the thread about my grandfather's deer and he responded. Turns out we have lots of common interest. It has truly been a pleasure to have the opportunity to get to know JF. It's lots of fun.

Geeez H, you got me thinkin' now! I don't care if I hunt but I'd open gates and pack bags just to tag along. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Can I come too? I've shot lots of elk in the last 15 years right here in my back yard but I would love to go to the mountains and hang with the guys at elk camp. Great story by the way JF. I need to build a new house before I can enjoy my elk mount, he's hanging in my cousins house for now.

There isnt a sporting goods store or feed store or gas station to hang it in? I've been in little towns who's gas station looked like a hunting convention! Horns everywhere! But lets cross that bridge when we get there! Wink

Are you close to the Black Hills Big Swede-I'm saving up for a mountain caribou hunt I think that would be pretty sweet.

We're about 150 miles southeast of the Black Hills. We have a prairie elk season here. They really enjoy eating irrigated corn, you've never seen more well marbled elk meat. Hell if they were black they might qualify for CAB too. Laughing
