They haven't been bringing much and I wonder with this new documentation rule if they might be worth even less. Confused

$25 to $100 here commission is $25 a head. Makes a guy want to breed every mare on the place. People should learn to geld the studs and spay the mares be better in the long run.

We shipped an old Belgian mare awhile back in the spring and got $500 for her-I paid $250 for her as a sucker and probably raised ten colts off her over the years.

FlyingS, are you planning on selling or buying? Looks like there ought to be some bargains at Butch Black's horse sale in Gordon. May be a little hard to dig through and know what you're getting, but a person might get a good deal if the homework was done.

HP I have a chance to buy a Frenchmans Guy gelding that doesn't ride. I offerred way up price for him. I figure either he will ride or he won't, if he doesn't I will take him somewhere and sell him as a loose horse.

People out here from the outskirts of town are hauling them to the desert and turning them loose, can't or dont want to feed them anymore
Know some of the ranchers here are shooting them because they have always been penned and can't make it in the desert, some don't even pull shoes before turning them loose,
Know some are being killed by cats up in the higher country.
Pretty sad really
