Been meanin to take some pictures...but kept leavin the camera at home. Been a while since ya'll seen any garden pictures LOL

Okra's the only thing left now. Besides a few late tomatoes that I noticed yesterday.
I'm 5ft 4in tall.....and this is how much taller the okra is than me.

Okra blooms are really pretty too.

They bloom in the morning....then close up mid afternoon.

The next day the bloom has fallen off....and you have a baby okra pod.

One of my lil buddies that seems to be there every day when I go pick.

Pickled okra....yummmmm!!!

Okra cut up and canned for frying later. This is the first year I've ever tried this. Freezin it didn't work. Tasted like the freezer. So I did a few jars of this a couple weeks ago. Fried some of it last night and it tastes just like freshed picked. So I put up a few more jars of it today.
(Hafta leave em upside down for 2 days)

It can be frozen if breaded and put in vacuum bags. Will last nearly a year.

Thanks for posting those!

The flowers remind me of poppies. I assume they are a very productive plant. You just don't see them here.

Lets see, No, I don't believe okra is related to hemp. Some of our native range plants are related to okra and cotton. I would have to look it up, but I believe it is the mallows. Would also be related to the Hollyhock.
