Chimenea,
I really like your horses. I like their hind ends. Our summer pasture is really rough country and I have wore out 2 horses up there. I've been getting more and more convinced that a stout back end is a must. |
My thanks to you, Frisco, for speaking kindly about our horses.
Like you, we are pretty emphatic that a stout back end (not just a big hip, but also strong stifles and gaskins over a properly conformed set of wide, solid bone on good-sized feet) is necessary for a horse to really be good for riding and ranch use.
Plus, the bigger-hipped horses tend to sell better for us than the smaller-hipped ones. And since we raise our horses not only for our use but also to sell to the public, it's an extra incentive to keep focusing on that type of horse in our breeding program.

| My thanks to you, Chimenea. It doesn't get better than that, for sure.
