my daughter Hadley is ready to move up a notch in the horse department and we found this guy for her. "Smokey" is a 9 YO Doc Bar bred gelding that is a been there-done type ranch horse.

she thought we should bring "Jack" over and keep him company until we turned him out with the other horses.

she needed a moment with Jack to make sure he knew he was still #1 and wasn't going anywhere

now, we have to wait for all this ice to melt so we can do some riding. that's going to be a long wait for a little girl.

tell Hadley she's a real sweetie and you can tell right off from the picture of her and Jack that he'll always be her # 1
you on the other hand... Shocked Razz Laughing

Well, tell your daughter if she doesn't get along with Smokey, I probably would Wink Very Happy . He looks just the right height to get on with winter clothing Razz .

Congrats on a nice purchase, I'm sure he'll work good for her Very Happy.

What a sweet little girl!
Where did you find the horse, Justin? He looks nice.
I always appreciate a good kids horse. Nice you are
keeping her mounted well. And very nice that she still
loves her ole' pony.

thanks for the comments everyone, even you Yanuck. Wink

FH- the horse came from a ranch near Newell where he was born and raised. we went to Rapid a week ago and watched the horse in a team penning. he's really level headed and very cowy. Hadley rode him down there and got along with him pretty good considering she had never been on the horse before and the horse had never had a six year old on him. if for some reason he doesn't work out for my daughter, i'm sure my wife will have no problem taking him off her hands. Nothing like a few Brownie points, Hey Dad?

I always liked a dapple grey, hope they fit together.

Thanks Justin.
