Got my start with a 9500 GMC ( Jimmy ) witha 238 ( 6-71) detroit and a 10 speed - - - really had something when I traded up to the next jimmy witha 318 ( 8V71 ) and a 13 speed.

If you could harness the noise you could have gotten twice the HP.

Spector Trucking did not have sleepers - - -you carried a pillow and laid it on the steering wheel and laid forward - - - when you were to stiff to sleep any more it was time to get back to driving!

Hardly knew hwat an Interstate hiway was - - -went thru every town you could find as that was where the freight went!

Was talking to a guy the other day says the guys that haul over the ice have to use older trucks. The new ones you have drive a certain speed for the enviromental stuff to work properly-unfortunately that speed exceeds the ice road speed limit. Going too fast over ice is a recipe for disaster. A guy got killed up at Cold Lake commercial fishing last week-put a pickup through the ice.
