It’s time that I pay tribute, to the man I call my dad.
Lately I’ve been remembering, the good times and the bad.
When you came into my life, little did I know,
The effect that you would have on me, and how my love would grow.
I won’t ever forget things we’ve shared, things that we’ve been through,
Will never forget your laugh and the funny things you do.
All the time spent camping and trying to catch some fish,
And making chocolate malts, those are times I miss.
I will always remember, mom would try to hide,
When you would act goofy and wave, to strangers passing by.
Walking me down the aisle, on my special day
Was the man nearest and dearest to me, in a very special way.
Holding all my babies on the day of their birth,
These are things I’ll cherish, from your time on earth.
Your unfailing love for mom, I will never ever forget,
I’m so glad you were there with me, on the day her fate was met.
You are such a part of me, from the bottom of my heart,
When it comes to being a dad, you have done your part.
Thank you for everything, the memories that we’ve had,
You are not just my hero, I proudly call you dad. |
still brings a tear to my eyes!! Thanks again, sw!!

Ranchwife, that was a nice tribute to your dad. Has to be tough not to get air like that. Did he ever try to go to the desert southwest? They say that dry air helps a lot of folks.
There is something to be said about living where you are confortable too though. That is worth a lot.

| Just so you all know, I offered to help ranchwife write something for her dad just before she and cowboyup moved him to ND about a year ago. That is what I wrote for a girl I've never met, for a man I still haven't met, all I had to go on was some things she remembered about growing up with him, and now growing older with him. All I could think of is why didn't I just keep my fingers off the keyboard? It was here on Ranchers. Since then, I also emailed that to my Dad, the night before he went in for removal of a cancerous tumour in his colon, made his day, goes to show you that good deeds are rewarded, if I hadn't of written that for ranchwife I would not of had it to share with my Dad. Thank you Ranchwife.
