So far as the Klan, you're grasping at straws. I think most people would agree the Klan is quite conservative, as a whole.
And to say that they're representative of "the right" is just as ridiculous as saying the kooks in passinthru's post are of "the left".

Every political ideology is made up of a multitude of differing sub-categories. The Log Cabin Republicans come to mind.
