well, i THOUGHT i had a reply posted to you denny, but i don't see it so i'll just do 'er again.
i believe they paid the help with PAYCHECKS. i also believe (though i have no PROOF) that, not many of them could/did sign up for unemployment as they WERE getting paychecks and therefore, couldn't. however, i'm sure that if the plants get shut down for an extended period of time or permanently, they WILL be signing up for unemployment.
