He is Obama, not Reid. Obama may appoint some Republicans. As far as I know, it is customary for the winning party to get the committee chairmanships.

Lieberman was a surprise.

That's kinda my point. It is customary to pick your own party when your in the majority. I would just like them to look out for the whole country and not just their party. Republicans too! I am sick of our party this and your party that! What about MY COUNTRY? Reid and Pelosi ARE the problem!

Reid is one of the most partisan politicians in Washington...if he had 60(D) votes, the Rep. could just pack up and go home.

Lieberman was a surprise.

Come on R2, you are smarter than that, Reid had to throw him a bone to try to keep him in the flock of 60.[/quote]

My point was let's see how partisan Obama turns out to be and not blame him for Reid's partisanship. And I'll grant you that McCain being less partisan is one of his sterling qualities, how about that?

A chairmanship is more than a bone lol.

Obama claimed the crown of most liberal Senator in his short stay there...and considering his previous associations, I don't think I will be surprised by his degree of partisanship.

Agree...and Reid will get a LOT for that "bone". Razz Wink Smile

Evidently Obama's made two Republican appointees according to the article that Oldtimer just posted. Robert Gates Sec Def and Ray LaHood Sec Transportation...

Wow Mary Schapiro to SEC. We worked for her a decade ago I think. Gotta go check that out.
