Remembered my camera a couple of days in a row.

This is where some of the cattle were rustling until yesterday

A snowy vista of the Coast Mountains. (Per, we are on the eastern slopes too. Wink )

Mud Creek Flat

New gate at our new place, it has been called Morrison Meadow since the late 30's

Fed the cattle at the Morrison Meadow, these are heifers, 1st and 2nd calvers and cows that had later calves this spring. We will move the rest of the cows here from the home place and get everybody sorted in their feeding groups in the next week.

Guard dogs on duty at the stackyard.
Old Monte (with his head up) is 14 now, this job is right up his alley as his outruns are slower all the time.

Plowing snow

Two miles of driveway, three passes to clear.

Sundown over Kappan Mountain.

Your eastern slopes are every bit a pretty as mine. Wink Too early for plow-able snow. We had a little blast of winter this afternoon.

Great set of pictures, Gcreek! Quite a hay mow in the back of a couple of those. Yup, it looks like you got winter. You are in some beautiful country.

Will that snow normally stay till spring?

We got our ground covered last night but only an inch or two. Last year by now we had almost a foot already and it stayed until spring. A few big new barn roofs collapsed under the weight of it as it was very, very heavy, waterlogged snow.

You live in absolutely beautiful country, Gcreekrch. The snow makes it look Christmas-card-perfect, even though it is understandable how it makes a lot more work and takes more feed. This too shall pass, or at least drift down the pass if the wind comes up. Wink Keep clickin' that camera.

Awesome country!! I have always wanted to take a train ride through that part of the world. Never been on a train and never been in that part of the world. Two birds with one stone kind of thing. Very Happy

I will echo everyone else. Sure is pretty up there. My "eastern slope" ain't so pretty. Some of the mountain guys here alway tell me "Yeh, but its hard to make a livin' on pretty." I say "yeah, but its hard to make a livin' on not too pretty!" Looks like you run a tight ship, and are ready for the snow. Keep clickin'.

Looks great gcreek, including that snow. I feel sorry for those that don't get it.
Nice to be able to water the cows where ever you want. those cows are heading into winter in fine shape.
Is it cold there? It's about -26C here this morning.
