Shelly- are you talking about a Northern Pike? I assume you're not talking about the ocean Jackfish- and think I've seen where Northerns are called jackfish sometimes- altho around here thats what they call the male Coho Salmon...
I really like both Northern and Walleye filleted- deep fried in a beer batter....Walleyes are the best tho...
My one son in law can cook them as fast as we catch them in his big deep iron skillet- and they just melt in your mouth....

| Yes I was talking about a Northern Pike. Around here, they are just called jackfish. I'm still waiting for our first Walleye, that one's coming home and into the frying pan.

| We have a lake here that they have been trying to eradicate the northern pike,poisioned it a couple times,still there.Those are some tough and vicious little suckers,they say there eating all the trout and other fish in the lake that attracts the fishing tourist.I can kind of see how you got bit,there like pirahna's with those big old teeth.

| Wow..what a story to tell yur grandkids someday..lol and I'm thinking it'll get even better as time goes on..lol So did ya at least take a photo of the fish before ya ate him??? I don't know fish unless they're gold..lol Seems to be the week of crazy accidents you and Soapweed! Think I'll keep my hands in my pockets..lol
