Polifact Debunks Obama-Ayers Connection

The McCain campaign and the RNC are still using ads (e.g., like this one that link Obama and 1960s radical William Ayers. Now Polifact
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/790/
has examined the ads closely and concluded that the claim that Obama and Ayers ran a radical education foundation together is a "pants-on-fire" lie. While it is true that Obama was the nominal head of the foundation in question, Ayers never had a paid position on the foundation's staff, never was on the board, and never had a vote on anything. His connection to Obama was attending some board meetings that were open to the public, and this 20 years after his radical days, by which time he had reformed enough to get a Ph.D. in education from Columbia University and was able to win Chicago's "Citizen of the Year" award in 1997 for his work for nonprofit organizations. In short, while Ayers was a despicable person in his youth, the McCain campaign's relentless harping on the close relationship between Obama and Ayers is very misleading. They weren't close at all.

Obama isn't being held responsible for what Ayers did. He's responsible for for his own actions of buddying up to a domestic terrorist. William Ayers is a piece of s*** that should be shunned, not used for political advancement. We're all getting a good look at what Obama is made of.

So lets see, first Obama said he was a guy in the neighborhood, then it was a tanjential relationship to Bill O'reilly, then it was well we worked together on a board, then we find out that Ayres hired him to serve on two boards to hand out millions in misspent charity money that wnet to political activisim instead of helping kids, then its I served with Ayres but I didn't know about his past, now its ya I knew but I thought he was rehabilitated, which is also a lie because in a series of highly rtelevised interviews Ayres made it clear how proud he was of what he did and how he did not do enough. Obama lied when he said he had nothing to do with ACORN either.

I can't speak for all of you folks, but I have had my fill of liars in office.

Then you certainly don't want to vote for McCain.

Quote:
John McCain may be trying to sell himself as a "maverick" and a "straight talker" who will tell the truth no matter the consequences, but independent, non-partisan watchdog groups aren't buying it. But, since he wrapped up his party's nomination, John McCain has offered more of the same false attacks and smears. To date, independent, nonpartisan fact checkers have published more than 50 fact checks debunking John McCain's lies and distortions.

To hold John McCain accountable to his own standard, the Democratic National Committee will count and chronicle the lies here on the McCainPedia's "Count the Lies" page.

This came out before the evidnce that Ayers was found to be the one who hired Obama on Woods and CAC and how close they worked together on CAC.

By the way, when Hillary said this about Obama, Ayers and Woods politifact.com said it was TRUE - Link http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/440/

Lucky for you there is freedom of speech in America. Glad to read your mis-guided opinion is not backed up with facts. I've tried to stay out of your stuff, nonothing but what you posted above makes me MAD. I don't totally agree with what Bush has done, what makes me most mad about Bush is that he doesn't stick up for himself.

McCain is really no one I would really vote for. He is too LIBERAL. He's NOT been a Bush supporter. Palin has eased the pain somewhat.

Rush gave some good advice today to a woman, was his last caller. He said (no quotes) it is stupid to debate a fool, because you end up being a fool. Fools will not change their minds, fools often react by "feelings" and you cannot debate a feeling.

You will never see "our" conservative side.
