Good question about letting the dog jump out of the pickup.
Actually, it isn't good for any dog to jump out as they can do irrepairable damage to themselves. At best they might not live as long, due to injuries from landing wrong.

FH, i agree, but especially the dogs built long and low to the ground--they just don't have enough spring in their legs for the shock absorbtion needed when jumping out of tall vehicles. they kind of "drop" out, and with their longer backs, guess where the shock of landing goes? right into the spine.
i wouldn't let one built like a corgi (or a dachsie) jump out of ANY taller vehicle. like JL says, they're small enough to pick up and set down (TX, i know you're strong enough to pick up a 45# corgi and set her on the ground!!) heck, it hurts ME sometimes watching a bigger dog jump out and land on hard ground!

45# corgi??? Try a 20 pound corgi...if that....she is little.
I wonder if she will get much bigger??? She is 6 months old...will she grow taller anyone think? When do dogs stop growing up? I figure she will just thicken up now and grow out a little.
