UFO Chaser: Aliens Involved in Mysterious Calf Mutilations

Thursday , November 26, 2009

AP

SAN LUIS, Colo. —
A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff's officials mystified.

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.

But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.

Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff's Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don't know what's killing the calves.

"There's nothing really to go by," said Sanchez, who's ranched for nearly 50 years. "I can't figure it out."

A spokesman for the sheriff's office told The Pueblo Chieftain that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.

"I've butchered a cow before and I know what kind of a mess it leaves," Sgt. James Chavez said.

Some in the area believe the mutilations are the work of aliens. An area UFO chaser, Chuck Zukowski of Colorado Springs, has been to the Costilla County pasture to investigate.

He told the paper there have been other unexplained calf mutilations in the area, including three in March. One of the other calves, found dead on a ranch near Trinidad, had its ears removed, Zukowski said.

"We're trying as much as we can to find a pattern," said Zukowski, who runs a UFO Web site called ufonut.com.

Sanchez said he has sold off his 32 remaining calves out of fear more would be mutilated. He hasn't decided how he'll manage the remaining 40 animals in his herd.

"It's a big loss for a small rancher," he said.

Thats a interesting article. That part of colorado is widely know for that kind of things. I had a young cow about 5 yrs ago that was killed in that same matter as in the article. My dad had a calf killed about 20 yrs back that was the same way. It had 4 holes cut on its back all the way to the tail head. It looked like someone took a cookie cutter and cut them out perfectly round. He had a vet come out and do a atuopsy done on it and the only organ that was left was the heart and it had hundres of wholes in it like someon poked it with needles.

I've always been very skeptical about these kind of things. There's usually a logical explanation just like the crop circles in Europe. However some people who I trust and believe have claimed to have found mutilated cattle on their place. I just don't know.

Why wont coyotes, birds, or dogs touch the meat? If it was done by humans or another animal there would be scavengers eating.........

If you ever get a chance to get your hands on a book called "Mystery Stalks the Prairie" by Roberta Donovan you should read it...Lots of photos of mutilations - and reports of mutilations her husband Capt Dick Donovan and Capt Keith Wolverton of the Cascade County (Great Falls) Sheriffs office had investigated...
I knew and worked with both- top investigators- but they claim they investigated about 70 cases where they could find no "reasonable" explanation for the deaths or mutilation.....In fact back in the 70's there were so many reported cases that they had a multi county task force set up investigating these reports...The task force included Air Force CID officers from neighboring Malmstrom AFB....

We had a neighbour a few years back that was sure aliens were causing grief with his cattle. Every so often a cow would show up with 2 or 3 holes in a line just down a ways from the back bone. Sometimes they were dead, sometimes they were alive but sore.
The mystery was solved one winter morning when the neighbours son came along to see his dad picking up a bale he'd set down ..... complete with the cow that was standing along side it. Turns out the grapple forks make a nice row of puncture marks that can cripple or even kill. Wink

Well the holes that were in the calf that we had was about the size of a grape fruit and no one was in the pasture with a grapple fork.
