Photo Contest RULES and Catagory List

Here are the new categories and dates. Feel free to post something
you would see added as a new category.
Dec. 21-27, 2009: OLD HOUSES
Dec.27-Jan.2,2010:-ACTION SHOT. Can be of anything that denotes
ACTION.

Jan 3-9: Messiest or muddiest ranch vehicle
Jan. 10-Jan. 16-What the well-dressed woman wears to check the cows
Jan 17-Jan. 23-What you see in/on the back of your truck, pickup, atv, etc.
Jan. 24-Jan. 30-Country Roads
Jan 31-Feb. -6: Vehicles older than 1960
Feb. 7-13: Doors (that's right; any door!)
Feb. 14-20 Kids on horses
Feb. 21-27: Old tractors

Feb. 28-Mar. 6 : Dog or cat houses OR dogs or cats sleeping
Mar. 7-13: Winter scenes (anything with snow)
Mar. 14-20: Boots
Mar. 21-27:Semis--over the road, or ranch, or any semi
Mar. 28-April 3: Old livestock pictures-need not be taken by you
April 4-10: Kids working (alone or with someone)
April 11-17: Teams (horses or cows (?) pulling something
April 18-24: Get togethers. Family, community, special occasions.
Anything where Pictures of Spring. Baby livestock, green grass,
flowers, whatever spring means to you. The sky is the limit.

April 25-May 1:

May 2-8: Spurs or hats: need not be taken by you
May 9-15: DOGS
May 16-22: Loose Horse or horses
May 23-May 29: DANGEROUS JOBS--photo need not be taken by you
May 30-June 5: ATV's working
June 6-12: Cooling off, or staying cool
June 13-19: Branding photo (postponed from an earlier date)
June 20-26:Storm photos taken in the sky
June 27-July 3:Reflections in a mirror or in water
July 4-10: Cool and Unusual Photos
July 11-17:Silhouttes
July 19-24: Picture of a good bull, must be taken by you
July 25-July 31: Country scenes
August 1-7: Old tractors, running or not. Pre-1960.
August 8-14: Windmills
August 15-21: Edited photos~on any subject.
August 22-28 Brands (on a board, gate or cow)
Aug. 29-Sept. 4:Landscapes.
Sept. 5-11: Pictures taken at a Fair (only 3 entries 2011)
Sept. 12-18:Things that are made by hand. (only 2 entries 2011)
Sept. 19-25: At rest. RELAXING. People, cats, dogs, horses...anything
Sept. 26-Oct. 2: What the well-dressed ranch or farm woman wears to do chores
Oct. 3-9: Images in fog
Oct. 10-16: CATS (I know, I know,but we have to be fair to the cat people here. Razz

)
Oct. 17-23: Anything Animal
Oct. 24-30-PAIRS--two of anything matching, alive or inanimate
Oct. 31-Nov. 6: Halloween Costumes (think up a new one, only 1 entry '10
Nov. 7-13:-BRIDGES
Nov. 14-20 Autumn Scenes
Nov. 21-27: Old Abandoned buildings
Nov. 28-Dec. 4:Old Abandoned buildings (JL had computer problems
so we ran this one another week)
Dec. 5-11: A favorite photo, Can be of anything, need not be
taken by you.

Dec. 12-18:Old Farm machinery/old wagons
Dec. 19-25: Christmas Trees
Dec. 26-Jan. 1, 2012-something madeby kids
Here are the rules for the first Photo Contest.

1. Photos must be taken by you, unless noted in the Category for that week.
2. Photo receiving the most votes wins.
3. Only registered members of ranchers.net can vote.
4. One vote per person.
5. DEADINE: If at all possible, have pictures to Jersey Lilly by Wednesday midnight....but late entries will be taken as long as there are openings up to 10 photos. New contest starts on Sunday of each week.
6. Pictures will be posted on ranchers.net Photo Contest for viewing and voting as the jersey lilly gets to them.
7. Voting ends Fridays at midnight.
8. Winner announced on ranchers.net Photo Contest each Saturday
9. One entry per person per category. Thank you.
10. No editing pictures or frames except in that certain category.
Cropping or taking out red-eye is permissible.

These rules and/or categories are subject to change, but cannot change in the middle of a contest. Rule Changes can only take place on Wednesdays, before the start of a new category. So watch this site for updates!!!

Hope this all makes sense and we all enjoy the photos. Remember, this is to be FUN!!!!!!!!!

Entries limited to first 10 each week. Categories will start over so, if your picture didn't make it the first time, resubmit it to cert the next time the category comes around. This is to keep the voting SIMPLE.

Well, I will have to enter a picture of Mrs PPRM for that, but it would be unfair....... Dang it, I would score big points but she probably will never see this post, LOL
