Well kinda hot! Say what? Thursday night after my day job we moved a little bunch of newly unburdened by a calf- cows, a cow with a late calf and one ol' holstein steer up to a meadow we lease. The temp was in the 40's but no wind. So we bundled up the crew and away we went! My best Girl and "pumpkin" ready & rarin' to go. (Cept for the rarin' part! Very Happy )

My sweetheart and the little hand are ready also! How do ya like our combination squeeze chute/ hitchin' rail? We do a lot of multi-tasking on this outfit! Very Happy

Had a lane most of the way and only had to play "goalie" on a couple bad spots. They gave me a chance to point and shoot!

Short trip of mile and change. Home till the snow stacks up over the feed. Lots a willows for protection, water and groceries! Heck it's all a cow can hope for! Wink

There they go to see the place.

Thanks for being good on the drags! I'll buy the hot-chocolate!

Today the front came through. It's in the 20's with a 30 mph breeze. Went lookin' for strays that had come over the top. I rode through the neighbors allotment and made a chilly loop.

Can you read her mind?We are doing what? Or How does a horse file a grievance for damage done to itself by workin' on a cold day? And finally, I hope your butt freezes to the saddle! Evil or Very Mad

Checkin' the draws and ridges of a burn that has recovered nicely!

The area burned in 94. It was western! Lost 50 some-odd cows across the mountain and hundreds of miles of fence. But after re-seeding this allotment is sure pretty now. All those tree carcasses drank a lot of H20 and without em' look at the grass!!!! Note to folks in the south and east.... Grass isn't always green all the dang time Very Happy Some of ya'll are spoiled! Wink

Loop made. No wanderin' bovines found. Did see a beu... a bowli.... a beau... a BELTED PAIR! I had planned to write beautiful, bedded, belted bovines but while i was thinking up that saying in my feeble brain the cow stood up! So much for my plan!

Great pics and a fine looking crew you've got there. Great job.

When they reseeded the allotments that burnt, did they do it by plane?

Where'd the Beltie come from? Razz
