I was feeling pretty disappointed when we turned around about seven miles past The River Bed. We saw a few head headed for water at the Hard Pan and decided that we would go there and set up our "bush whack." It was dusty and the the breeze kicking up a lot of dust.
When they finally got there Gypsy's buckskin colt of about six years ago was leading the pack with her two colts.

They didn't like the color of the first pond, so they move around the corner to the one with less water and more mud.

Some others started coming in and making their selves at home.
This buckskin mare is a carbon copy of Gyply's colt in the previous pictures.

Like the others, they left the best water and went around the corner to check out the other pond.

Some of them left in such a hurry, they didn't even say good by.

Four in the air.

Like they say on TV,,, Meanwhile fifteen miles north, by the town of Dugway,,,
Ol Paint is venting.

Peanut came by to say Hello.

Friendly Fred hardly noticed we were there.

Fred's mother looks in really good shape, considering how dry it is.

Some more of our friends came by to say Hello.

We had so much fun we didn't hardly notice it was 94 degrees and no shade. The breeze kept us alive.

Looks like a good roll in the mud is occasionally in order!

Some of them are getting quite friendly. It sure is a mystery why this band is to tame and the one twenty miles north is so scared and wild. We can't drive within a half mile of them, without they stampeding off in the other direction. The only way I can get pictures of them is to hide out on the water and make sure the wind isn't giving me away.

When I see what those studs do to each other and then have one walk past at twenty feet, it makes one pay attention to who is around and what they are doing.
