My name is "Bubba". I want to drive the mule. Am I greasy? [/img]
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Cuts of meat

Postby Jinglebob » Thu Jun 09, 2005 9:29 pm

Where do the highest priced cuts of meat come from, off from an animal? Rump, loin, ribs, etc?

JB, you have got to be kidding!

Reminds me of the other day when I was talking with a rancher about carcass information on bulls. He said he knew a 'little bit' about it. So I showed him an information sheet and when we got to ribeye info, he said "Ribeye. Let's see. That's down by the brisket, in the chest isn't it?"

And on the bull, that's not grease, that's MUSCLE!!!

No I'm serious. Meant to start a new posting, but I must have hit the wrong button.

So, where is it?

Mike please show me how you post a picture like you did this one. That photo bucket thing sure trimes the quality out of the pictures.

I just downloaded the picture in photobucket, selected the picture by placing a check in the box under the picture, highlighted "image" underneath the picture, copied it, went to new topic on ranchers.net and opened it, then clicked "Img" just to the left of URL above and hit paste. I think?

I will give it a shot next week when I get back to my high speed connection. I took today off to get ready around here for high wends. I may spend the weekend in Mobile if the weather gets too bad.

Maybe some of these people who are raising cattle can really learn something - ANY thing would be a help! Sooner or later - what goes around comes around!
