Cows enjoying life

Image
Lounging around on a warm summer day

Image
Some of them seem more scared of the water.

Image
Later in the day they had drifted to the north end of the pasture.

Image
I got behind them on my Ranger and drifted them to a gate into the next pasture.

Image
But will pause to let them match up for a bit

Image
And then push them easily along

Image
I have opened the gate and started letting them through. At this point quite a few have already gone through single file.

Image
I am counting them, but there is a slight break

Image
So I can take a few pictures

Image
They ambled easily through, and none of them moved faster than a walk.

Image
Now they are walking on new grass

Image
And singing a new song

Image
Tomorrow there's no telling where they'll be.

Image
The candy store

Image
Is open

Image
Come inside.

I'm a little envious of your water and green hills, we are still dry here.

Been some rains around us but not close enough.

Looks great Soap. It's far greener here right now but I have a hunch your grass is packing a lot more punch than ours :)

Great job of moving them. Slow and steady wins the race!
Liked seeing the GREEN GRASS and WATER. So many places in Mt and Wy aren't that fortunate.

I'm really envious now as we are drier yet, it's getting to be a long hot summer.
The smoke really rolled in here from the NW this morning. Hope we get some cooler temps this week.

The weather prognosticators on Rural Radio today were claiming substantial rainfall is on it's way up through the plains and into the prairie provinces. Hope you get your share.

I like the breaks when I am counting cows. It lets me get my shoes and socks off so I can use my toes ;-}

It's interesting what plants cows will eat when the stage of the plant is right. We have steers keeping goatherds at bay in one lot.
