Perhaps the most significant day, or a very close second, of Christianity.

This morning we will once again attend a powerful, annual event that draws several hundred people every year - a community-wide Communion service held in a large, high school gymnasium.

A number of local churches of varied denominations get together to plan and carry out this service which includes the music of the season - Presbyterian, United, Bible Chapel, Evangelical Missionary, Brethren in Christ, Baptist, to name a few - in a solid tribute to the unifying power at the root of this Easter Season.

At this service, we will see many people whom we seldom see in such a setting - the teller from the bank where I do business, some guys who make parts for my fabricating business, the insurance guy, the store owner(s), area farmers, the list goes on . . . for one brief morning, we are all reminded that there is something of far greater significance than the daily humdrum of the business of our earthly lives.

Something that connects and unifies us at a much deeper level than the relationships which we establish over counters or coffee shop tables.

Amazing! And that same "something" has accomplished the same effect right across our land, indeed, right around the world! Every color, race and ethnic group - all who call Him Lord.

The Crucifixion of the Christ! The One who died to break the Curse and pay the full penalty of our Fall. Ponder the significance of this . . . when we begin to understand we will join in and say "Worthy is the Lamb . . ."
