Postby Chickshunt2 » Thu Oct 25, 2012 6:28 pm

I could find everyone's picture but the last one, I just couldn't figure out whose it was. Maybe the owner can tell us, or Chickshunt2.

I don't think we talked about who would post the names of the entries after the contest was over. Again

Please bear with us everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience. We WILL get it
all figured out!!

The entries were outstanding! And it was so nice to have the poll full!!
Now if I can come up with as good a catagory for next week.

Thinking..........thinking........... :P

I think we should have a guessing contest on what some of these things are. :D

If you are really, really sure you know let some that are just guessing go first.

I'm pretty sure #6 is Haymakers but only slightly used.

What the heck is #5? A bank? :???:

I found this about log of a cowboy.
"The Log of a Cowboy is an account of a five-month drive of 3,000 cattle from Brownsville, Texas, to Montana in 1882 along the Great Western Cattle Trail. Although the book is fiction, it is firmly based on Adams's own experiences on the trail, and it is considered by many to be the best account of cowboy life in literature. Adams was disgusted by the unrealistic cowboy fiction being published in his day; The Log of a Cowboy was his response. It is still in print, and even modern reviewers consider it a compelling classic. The Chicago Herald said: "As a narrative of cowboy life, Andy Adams' book is clearly the real thing. It carries its own certificate of authentic first-hand experience on every page.""

The Log of a Cowboy can be downloaded for free (just google it) it is offered on both the kindle and nook in their stores also for free. I've downloaded it and got about 1/4 of the way into it...good book so far!

Big Muddy your wrong on number 6! Not Haymakers...

Oh and I forgot to add!

Last night after midnight when I posted the winner there was only one photo with 4 votes making it the winner. When I set up the poll it asks me how many days to run the voting and since I set it up on wed evening I set it to run for 3 days..I thought that would be wed, thurs and fri...but it must not count the day you set it up. I'll try setting the next one for 2 days and hopefully it will let everyone vote until midnight Fri night. If anyone has any issues please let me know!

Boy I'd have bet money that #6 was Haymakers.

#1 as GM88 eluded to was a "Poke" at least that's what they are called in this area. It was put around the neck of a cow and when she stuck her head through the fence if would "Poke" her and she would back up.
I can't even remember where this one came from as I found it cleaning off the back of my bale deck truck and figured it should be in Tam's museum. :D

#9 from Tam is supposed to be a buggy seat spring. I'm not sure if it was part of a pair. Maybe somebody else knows.
:D

What the heck is #5? Come on JF spill the beans. :D :D

#10 must belong to some old sew and sew.
