New pup

Postby burnt » Wed Oct 14, 2015 11:51 am

Got us a new pup last week and he's settled in like a boss. Not likely going to be a real big dog but he sure shows a lot of heart and ability. Well, as much ability as a dog can show while herding 7 or 8 cats...

(Somehow that pic didn't load for me.)

That's a good strong looking pup, nice he's showing herding instinct so young.

I had to put my oldest BC down last week, he was 12 and that's about 3 times the age most BC that work cows get.

Think I am going to wait awhile before getting another one as I still have 2 cow dogs,

Oh my gosh, burnt. He's my kind. After mine own heart. I'm envious. Have a blast with him!

No papers with this chappie. He's out of a BC/BH momma and a 3-way BC/BH/AS daddy.

Called him Toby. Little guy with lots of heart. He's just a real soldier, no quit in him, plows through the 1 1/2' tall grass/alfalfa right behind me when I move the hotwire ahead for the cows. Although this morning he got a bit overwhelmed by the tangle since it was pouring rain, whimpered a bit when we got on the tractor to head home but then chased a cat, dove into his food dish and the world was right again...

Full name is Toby Stroman, for all you Toronto Bluejays fans... :D

You have a good way with words, burnt. I could just see the pup doing that. :-)

Thought you might call him "Joey Bat"

If he messes in the house you could name him after the Rangers second base man that made the 3 errors "Odor"

Don't know what I did differently but this time the picture actually showed up.
