Grandkids messing around

Image
Rainy day road trip

Image
Pulling into our little town from the west headed east

Image
Don't try this at home.

Image
Sorting out two-year-old heifers, to brand their calves

Image
Just a few more to sort out

Image
Whoops, there is an "oops." A calf escaped, but later we drove him back around into the corral with a couple Rangers.

Image
212 to brand. We processed the first calf at 8:30 a.m. and did the last one at 12:40. Five of us were on the crew.

Image
We had to turn this bunch out to grass on May 5th, mainly because the wind didn't blow for about three days and the two windmills on their feed ground didn't stay ahead. Fortunately this pond was just on the other side of the fence.

Image
I called them with the feed pickup

Image
And Peach followed them out the gate with a Ranger

Image
The herd finished the day with a good drink and green grass. They bedded down for the night quite happy.

Image
I took her picture

Image
So she requested to take mine.

Image
The whole gang went with me. One was playing "pirate" before we left home, so he was a pirate for the rest of the day.

Image
To distribute salt and mineral

Image
They are a pretty rowdy bunch.

Image
Even though they sometimes look quiet and contemplative.

Image
Or do they?

Image
A great bunch of kids

Image
But sometimes they need to run off a little energy

Image
There is the Five on Fox

Image
And these are the Five on Coyote

Image
Green grass, blue sky, and grandkids

Image
You can't beat a combination like that.

Image
One got to drive home

Image
While the others

Image
Just rode along

Image
And hung on

Image
Tight

Image
We were gone two hours and the Ranger had 12 more miles on the odometer than it did when we started.

I, too carry Kleenex and glasses cleaner in my daily driver, along with a few hundred other things. Drought doesn't look imminent in your area, either.

You are going to have to invest in an extended ranger with a back seat! Nothing better than a "herd" of grand-kids - - - my next is due 7-7-17 - - - My grandson is disappointed as he has 6 cousins and all are girls - - - this is a girl as well!

So wonderful that you have the great opportunity to enjoy your grandkids.......and you certainly do!
In my mind, with grandkids especially, I think "that day will never come again"...so you are very blessed, Soap.

The oldest girl and the twins are Sparky's, right? The oldest boy and the little girl are Kosmo's. Do I have that right? Beautiful kids,
and very fortunate. Even if there is a pirate in the bunch. :D

The heifers and their calves look good!

You have the family lineage down pat. Thanks for the compliments. We do feel very blessed, even if it does get kind of noisy around this outfit some of the time. :-)
