backing out of stackyard, snow deep and crusted, tractor stops no lights on dash or shifting leaver . Turn tractor off, no power. no shovel so we use axe to chop snow dig out battery which is under step and cab on left side. OH  the snow pushed the metal end on a hydraulic hose into the positive post of the battery, melting the red plastic cover over the post and connection and shorting out the battery
. Ok we only got a 12 in crescent and a 1/2 in wrench. Got battery out, Donny came down on top of the crust with his 4 wheeler. Napa had a battery... Finished feeding cows with the lights on...

Leave it to a rancher to figure out how to adapt, improvise, and overcome. 99% of the city folk wouldn't have even opened the tractor cab door before getting on the phone to say "....dunno, she just quit. I guess it's screwed, send somebody..."
