My wife and I got involved with disaster relief after the fires in Kansas. We made a specific donation that called for us to do some research and make some connections and also hauled some donated stuff from our area and in doing so wound up with a network of people that are very focused on helping others. We are now turning that focus on the disaster in Texas.
Our role turned into information sharing and somewhat of a dispatch role combining convoys of help with ranchers that had contacted us.
We learned early on that rather than try to guess what people need, it's better to ask.
If you're a rancher in South Texas, what do you need? How can we help?
We have lots of donors that like to help on a one on one basis so feel free to send me specifics and I'll do my best to match you with someone that wants to meet that specific need.
We also have lots of people willing to donate hay/supplies/whatever you ask for but we need information about which areas need it most and we need trustworthy locations where those supplies can be dropped where anyone in need can get them.
If you're on Facebook we're 2017 wildfire relief.
