    Interesting Read

I look at new swathers and wonder "did they think they were building a combine, or what?!" them things are huge, hi powered and priced accordingly. And to replace the mower I started out with?! What you're doing makes total sense to me---and i'll bet sundrying full width for a bit beats...

Fire Truck Fiasco, by Steve Moreland, May 28, 2018

It did have---not sure if anything's been robbed. State put in a fire service area, with fees---we finally got some money to work with. So had that loaned out to rancher, but I see it's back---and setting outside. (I retired from dept) I'll look at what's left on it and ask if they want to...

Fire Truck Fiasco, by Steve Moreland, May 28, 2018

Nope---no title included. Supposedly, when some govt agency furnished it they said 'and we don't want it back!" I used to take it, didn't want to be the first to put ding in new truck--we'd rebuilt an old wide block 318 I'd donated and it ran out about 80--and drove good with long wheelbase...

Good story--but, c'mon Paul Harvey---what'd the truck sell for after all the worryin'? ps--our dept has about '61 4 door dodge powerwagon, allegedly owned by civil defense. Wanna buy it?

    bale decks

about the only thing I can think of is like a broken bale---you can grab the whole thing, not just the center. Maybe if a guy had wrapped bales---and left the spinner off? Our first was an old dew ese---parallel===it did have down pressure to where you could change a tire or hoist yourself...

    Bud box question

Way too often, you see somebody fairly inexperienced working the back. Try to use too much force, hot shots, don't understand cows. Turns into a negative experience for everybody involved--both cows and people.

    Bud box question

our budbox continues on into an 'L' a gate is hung on inside corner of 'L' If it's shut across the bud box, it makes box 10' shorter it also latches 90 degrees farther, which makes the box longer and starts crowding cattle into trailer loading. I got them latches that latch from either side...

    Hydra-beds~ Which is your favorite

Yup, that's what I was thinking.....and, my luck, it'd be the morning of the auction----kinda like this: The Deacon’s Masterpiece or, the Wonderful "One-hoss Shay": A Logical Story by Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894) Have you heard of the wonderful one-hoss shay, That was built in such a...

    Hydra-beds~ Which is your favorite

The beds are heavy, pickups get around pretty good. And not dead weight, got a little give to it---one bale, 4 low, 3rd gear and stand on it and will go thru lots. Or get a loooong way into tough stuff.... We store in long rows, ends butted together---pick up a couple, then have to set down...

    Hydra-beds~ Which is your favorite

one I bought had a glue on 110 volt engine heating pad on the oil tank. Kinda abandoned that and just use auto trans fluid. no matter the make, I want quick couplers on the squeeze hoses---just too handy not to have. our trucks are regular cabs, I think a crew cab would be too long, but...

    A few projects

I like your bed and your bulls, both quite a lot.....but, any headache rack I build is strong enuf for a roll bar. Please think about that, esp with young drivers coming up. Probably saved one or more lives around here.
