Didn't really get any indication what the Non fed market is doing. I have some culls to sell.
We spayed a bunch of smaller heifers, and keeping the lighter steers for grass cattle. The cull market seems soft. Not sure if the number of dairy cows being slaughtered has tapered off. Maybe they slipped in some more Water Buffalo from India and Australia.

Brought to us by Cargill Vigortone, remember all those guys that said Cargill mineral was so much better then Vigortone?

Guess they didn't know what Cargill knew. :cowboy: :lol2:

On Tuesday April 23 we could have bought price insurance for $2.30/cwt CAD.

Today it would have cost the same dollar to buy protection at $2.16/cwt.CAD

Quite the omen for fall.

Back the fist of March I bought 100,000lbs at $1.98 thinking it looked pretty good. Should have bought a bit more at the $2.30
My son got his covered at $2.10 for about $.95/cwt
