[Faster horses]

Warbex works fine but it is getting late to use it, due to the grubs getting killed while in the wrong place. Known of that happening, especially with Warbex. that is addressed in the first link I posted.

We had a Lewis Oiler the cattle used too, so that helped break the life cycle of the lice.

I know we will never eliminate warbles as they also host in deer,elk, and moose and even heard of a horse having a warble, but do you think since it is so easy to pour cattle with Ivomec and such. Do we have the warbles we once had?

I don't think so. I also think we almost lost all the magpies because of pour-ons. Funny, you never heard of that from the 'greenies'. Magpies are making a comeback here now but a lot of people don't like 'em. I think they are comical.

I think we must be ahead on the warble game. Haven't seen cattle gadding in years, and haven't found evidence. Everyone in the area uses pour-ons, magpie population never been better. Need to be careful come calving time, they are every bit as bad as ravens, will peck the eyes out of a downer calf. When they move in the songbirds are gone, so I'm not a fan.

I wouldn't know, we have lots of trees and thorn bushes

We have lots of Magpies as well, I think West Nile got rid of some of them for a few years.

Hornet's and grenades get rid of quite a few around here LOL

Not sure what we use for lice, but believe they aren't much problem here.

Magpies are few, but we do see up to a half dozen in the higher areas. I hope they aren't killing too many song birds (by eating eggs and small birds).There was a bounty on them in early 1940's in this area, so suppose they were thinned to tolerable levels back then.

So Nicky, What are you doing for lice control?

We're going to try Standguard, it says 'season long' and is a different chemical than we've used before. Figured it can't hurt to change things up. We hear great things about CleanUp but the weather doesn't want to cooperate. We'll try the leftovers from last year on the bulls or something when we get a warmer day. Did a fecal sample and they only found one egg, so aren't worried about worms right now.

Did you mean you would use a Ivermectin if you were worried about worms?
