    Succession Planning

If you ever have a chance to hear Dr Ron Hanson, Univ of Nebraska speak on this topic it will open your eyes as to how narrow minded and cruel relatives, most especially siblings can be towards "the family farm".

    Calving in a blizzard

Porter---I think I am looking out my kitchen window at your pics. I, too, am in southcentral north Dakota along the SD border, SE of Bismarck about 100 miles. The wind switch to the north last evening really socked things in. Calves are holding up pretty well, but do need sunshine, and a...

    The storm

Southcentral North Dakota is socked in with an old time March snowstorm. Big, wet flakes, and 30+ mph winds. Probably 6-8" new snow, luckily a good melt last week did bare most ground. Sounds like it should be done by Tuesday morning. Bismarck, ND is poised to set all-time snowfall total as...

    .22 rifle

I have had a Remington Model 572 since 1969. It has never failed me, and probably shot over 10,000 rounds thru it at everything from gophers to badgers. It just stays sighted in. It is a pump action, tube feed. About five years ago starting collecting them for my grandkids, gave out the...

    Aluminum Trailers

Just stay close to the colony so they can do the aluminum welding on it for you.

    Aluminum Trailers

I am on my second Wilson, after several others, and wouldn't switch brands, come love or money. Had one F-lite, don't get me started on a bad dream. My change to Wilson was after much looking. Sure they are a few $$ more, but at least you can jump on the fender wells, without the feeling of...

    Cattle predictions for 08

In our neck of the woods the distillers grains n any form are getting extremely hard to get. Better plan on a wait of a week or two. Even th syrup, which used to be free is spoken for quite aways out.

    Wilson Wheel Coral

Jake--Where is you location? I am looking for a dealer nearest to ND.

    Wilson Wheel Coral

The right side(as you stand behind it) panel is the weakest, and always on the back wheel axle. I have always believed it is from bouncing in and out holes, or rough ground. I am on my second corral and it has happened to both of them. A good blacksmith can lift the corral up, cut the wheel...

Hot day at the old place today

What is your location from the flooding taking place in Illinois? My daughter lives in Arlington, indicates all roads surrounding the town are passable yet flooded. Near Triumph, where the farm/cattle are located, water is three wires high, livestock having to be moved to higher ground.

    Cabellas Brokering Away Ranchland?

Perhaps this company needs to be placed on the "Don't buy here" list. It certainly appears they are moving into non retail sales areas. After all, there is Scheels, and I am sure there are other regional stores to shop at.

HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK

Now if we could just get John Thune on the same ballot as Bush will be on next time it would be great. Or maybe just put him on a "railroad" and head him out.

    Wind Power Development

Have one established wind farm about 40 miles away, nothing bad said about it yet, still quite new though. Another one is on the drawing board in southcentral ND, sounds fairly big(120 turbines). Everybdy is excited about it, sounds like payment is $3500-$4000 per turbine, plus % of the energy...

Anyone know which animals were named the Supreme Champions at the Black Hills Stock Show, in the Beef Division? Can't find anything in the RC Journal or the BHSS Website. Thanks.
